LAIPOL CI-3011 is a water redispersible powder polymer and is produced by atomisation of an aqueous dispersion of an acrylic copolymer with polyvinylalcohol as a protective colloid.
It is used as a thickening agent applied in cement-based mixtures whenever a highly thixotropic system is required.

The use of LAIPOL CI-3011 prevents aggregate settling when the particle size of the aggregates cannot be controlled or when the desired viscosity cannot be achieved.
In thin-bed applications, it serves as an adhesive for tiles or cement primers and helps to increase open time.
For this purpose, LAIPOL CI-3011 can partially replace modified cellulose. A substitution of up to 25% of the total amount of cellulose does not alter the open time of the mortar.
