LAICRIL W-1823 is a self-crosslinking acrylic emulsion with a core-shell morphology, featuring a small particle size for use in exterior wood protection coatings and for finishes especially.
This emulsion does not require the addition of coalescents for the correct formation of transparent films, although the addition of some kind of co-solvent to graduate the drying is advisable. It is also advisable to verify compatibility with the most commonly used coalescents; butylglycol, Texanol or Dowanol DPnB are recommended.
For the use of LAICRIL W-1823 as an exterior finish for transparent wood, it is advisable to use filters and/or transparent pigments that inhibit or reduce the effect of UV rays from sunlight, thereby providing perfect protection of the wood.
The compatibility of LAICRIL W-1823 with fillers, pigments, additives and auxiliaries used in the varnish and paint industry is generally good. It is recommended to carry out the appropriate tests
to determine the quantity and degree of compatibility of these products with the emulsion.
