Applications:
LAITEX Z-1075 is particularly suitable for the manufacture of reinforcing materials for footwear.
In this application, the fact that the product only forms a closed film at high temperatures is taken advantage of. For this reason, the textile material impregnated with LAITEX ZX-1075 remains soft and flexible even after drying at 120-140°C. Shoe reinforcements die-cut from this material only acquire their final hardness after treatment with a suitable solvent (e.g. acetone, toluene, xylene). The plastic particles are strongly swollen by the solvent and weld together when the solvent evaporates to form a closed film.
In this so-called ‘activation’ operation, the surface of the footwear reinforcement undergoes a phase of strong tackiness, which allows the reinforcement to be bonded to the upper and the lining.
It is also used as a hard component in mixtures with other dispersions.
